Call your U.S. Senators and urge them to support
PENSION LEGISLATION IN THE NEXT COVID-19 STIMULUS BILL
The Senator Contact Kit contains phone numbers, fax numbers, mailing addresses and electronic message links for all 100 U.S. Senators as well as sample language and tips for contacting your Senators. In addition, it describes why our Fund is in critical need of assistance and explains the bill that was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives that would help if passed in the Senate.
IF YOU WISH TO CALL YOUR SENATORS
As a stakeholder in the Graphic Arts Industry Joint Pension Trust, you have or will shortly receive a Make Your Voice Heard post card urging you to call your Senators. So, download the Senator Contact Kit which is filled with tips on how to prepare for and make your call as productive as possible. Use the toll-free 888-979-9806 number to get directly connected to your Senators after entering your zip code. Phones numbers are also listed in the Senator Contact Kit.
IF YOU WISH TO SEND AN ELECTRONIC MESSAGE (EMAIL) DIRECTLY TO YOUR SENATORS
The GCC/IBT National Pension Fund has partnered with “The Action Network”, and is letting you use their website to provide you with an easy on-line method to send a pre-written electronic message directly to your Senators. You will enter your information for each Senator. Visit the following site:
This website will provide you with a summary of how this crisis has developed over time and by entering your contact information, it will allow you to send a pre-written message directly to your individual Senators. In the alternative, you can modify the message to be sent to your Senators but do your best to keep it brief and to the point.
IF YOU WISH TO FAX A LETTER TO YOUR SENATORS
If you have access to a fax machine, you can fax a letter to your Senator but note that there are a few Senators who are not accepting faxes. You can find your Senator’s fax number in the Senator Contact Kit or you can try faxZERO® which allows you to send a free fax to your Senator through your computer- go to https://faxzero.com/fax_senate.php for more information.
Please note that mailing letters to Senators is discouraged at this time because security screenings may delay receipt of a physical letter by up to three weeks. This is why we are suggesting that you call their offices as well as send an electronic message and/or fax a letter.
But, if you really wish to mail a letter, you can download the Senator Contact Kit referenced above which provides sample letters.
